Natural Bodybuilding

My reason for getting into bodybuilding was through football as I used the gym for a performance enhancement strategy. I started using the gym when I left secondary school at the age of 16. After a year when I started seeing muscle development I increased the number of days at the gym from 2 to 4. After a month or so, I got hooked and it made me really determined to increase my muscle size. From training in a big bodybuilding gym and seeing all the older people competing along with seeing their pictures on the wall and this inspired me to take the same path, “The natural way”.

What got me hooked to the gym was the challenge you get from bodybuilding training. Trying to better yourself every lift, every session, every week didn’t only challenge me physically but mentally as well. This kept me thinking of ways how I could improve my physique and better myself in different body parts. This sport really pushes the body to the limit and that is what I love. “The will to be the best is what keeps me going today”

Also what come with bodybuilding training are the health benefits and the feel good factor you get. From the good nutrition to training and this up to 6 days a week has really made me feel a lot healthier, more confident in my approach to life as well as improving my self esteem.

During my 5 years of training I have encounter many difficulties especially with injuries and during this period I have suffered three bad shoulder injuries which have all restricted my training up to 10 weeks or over. In addition I have encountered two knee injuries which y prevented my leg training for 13 months. Initially this made me depressed and I felt generally low inside. This sparked of doubts if I could ever come back to the level I was before this happed. I was fortunate enough to study psychology at university and this allowed me to investigate ways around the effect the injuries were having on my mental state I found the best approach to overcome the initial injury was still to train the same amount and place emphasis on my weaker body parts. My motivation shot through the roof and with this firm focus I increased myself efficacy. The use of goal setting was also a key to this.

Since the age of 18 I started using the Training Secret, all I have seen is improvement after improvement, after improvement. When I completed my first competition I took on the training secret to prepare myself for a local show and the difference in muscle size, symmetry and condition was unbelievable and this was in just a 4 month period. Having experienced these results, I decided to stick with the programme and try to fulfil my dreams in competing internationally. Since the age of 18 I have recognised great muscle development. And this has made me both physically stronger as well as mentally. I personally feel this has played a larger part in my success within bodybuilding training and competitions. The training secret also teaches you the biomechanics of the body which has given me a better understanding of the word technique. This innovative method has made me think about training in a new light.

Bongani Myaka 22 years old
South Africa 22 years

It is my ambition to compete in a Musclemania show as this has worldwide recognition and it is modern , fun and exciting in its delivery. I am also excited to compete in the UK show as all my previous shows have been the conventional and old fashioned shows. The training secret has also helped me to be motivated to be loyal to natural bodybuilding. I will give this show my best and it is my dream to complete in the USA and I will be fighting on stage to achieve this. In South Africa I have completed with my Friend Julian-Lee Ramdahri and this included a competition in England in 2009 with NABBA. My life is dedicated to bodybuilding and I have helped many athletes to train for their chosen sport

How it all started
I started going to a small private local gym at the age of 16 and right from the beginning I saw my muscles starting to quickly develop. During this early period I had very little understanding of bodybuilding and where I come from help is very limited. I therefore decided to go and see a friend of mine competing at a local bodybuilding competition, he was in the novice class and it was going to this show that really gave me motivation I needed. Since then there has been no turning back and my heart is set on training and competing to get to be the best as quickly as I can I am really hooked on bodybuilding and now seriously compete whenever I can. I have made friends with Bongani (from the shows) who is also from South Africa and competing in the UK Musclemania show and this something we are both looking forwards to. We have now been competing together now for fourth yeas and I am delighted with my progress and my record of being second six times during the past few years is satisfying. I want to continue to train and my dream is to compete in the Musclemania show in the UK and also the United States, so I aim to win my category. I have decided to make bodybuilding both my career as well as my ambition to be the best classic bodybuilding in South African

I started working out about 4 years ago but have only gotten very serious and dedicated in the past 2. There are several reasons why i fell into bodybuilding and weight lifting in general. One would be because my father use to go gym, and at night after a long hard workout my dad would come home and we would flex and i told him one day i will be like you, and at the moment i weigh more than he did and my father is proud of what i've accomplished and will accomplish. Another reason i got into bodybuilding is because in town i lived in there was a lot of corruption and you either got into trouble by fights, alcohol drugs and other things that would ruin and take up young peoples lives. Gym for me was like a oasis where all those things did not matter to me at all. I would rather go gym get fit and healthy while others would "shoot up" in the back. Thats probably why i have the mind set of always staying natural and true to myself and hopefully inspire others. This is why i believe the Musclemania show will be perfect for someone as myself as i believe this is what Musclemania represents and offers and i would be honored to be apart of that and succeed. These all contribute to my goals and dreams of becoming the best natural bodybuilder i can be, which is training hardcore, staying determined and dedicated with bodybuilding and anything else i do.

I would like to do the musclemania shows, as i see it as one of my goals to be part of a bodybuilding competition and organisation as big as the Musclemania show. This will hopefully expand and open some doors for me which is also why i would definitely take up the option to compete in the Musclemania show in the big USA, that would be a chance of a lifetime and will prosper all my dreams and short term and long term goals. We all percieve the US as the place for bodybuilding and would love to experience it myself and make up the most of it and sponge everything up

Kind Regars

Daniel Tuitt - 21 years old
My name is Daniel Tuitt, I’m 21 years old and am currently studying to be a PE teacher at Brunel university.

I got into training when I was about 17 years old as i was fed up of being a fat kid lol. my personal goals to become as fit as possible and to generally feel better about myself. I achieved this through hard work and a strict training and diet programme.

When I came to university is where there was a big change to my training and I converted to bodybuilding. However I always had an interest in this sport as my uncle had competed in shows when I was a lot younger so you could say it runs in the family. it’s taken me 3 dedicated years to be at a reasonable level to compete and I took part in my 1st show in may 2009 where I came joint 7th but for me this was a major accomplishment. I’m now training for my 2nd competition and I believe the extra year can excel me to come 1st as I’ve put the work, time and effort into training and I deserve to be up on the podium holding that trophy.

It has been hard at times especially whilst dieting and training twice a day as sometimes it seems like your life is on hold or in slow motion, but these times is where you remember why you’re doing it and how great you are going to feel once the competition is over. I can tell you that after my 1st competition I felt like the king of the world as all the work had paid off and i got on that stage and performed like crazy!!

i have high ambitions in this sport and hope one day to become a natural pro and compete against the best the world has to offer, I believe I have potential, pride, dedication and the support to get there. The support from U-Phorm has been phenomenal they have been there every step of the way and opened many doors which otherwise may of been kept locked. so a special thanks goes out to the guy that work there keep up the good work.

Danny Henman - 18 years old
Bio for Daniel Henman, England – Muscle

My inspiration came from just generally being one of the smallest lads in the year group. Hitting the age of 16 is were it all began for me, old enough to join the local gym (which was a 3-4 Mile bike ride at the time, before I started driving), where I pumped iron non-stop! I trained naturally for a year, an by natural I mean no supplements of any kind, e.g. no supplements, creatine tablets etc...I achieved 8% body fat which was all well an good at the time, but after a while I decided that size was what I wanted. I couldn't live with just having a ripped body, (1st photo shows where I was after the year), so I got down to looking into how to build some serious head turning muscle. I did what any guy would do in my situation I guess, talked to my trainers at the gym, researched the best muscle building workouts from all over the world, watched pumping iron purely for inspiration when I didn't want to train, until I found the right combination to achieve my goals. I've never looked back, my physique is in the best shape it's been all of my life, and I owe it down to my own stubborn motivation to prove myself, as not just another little lad, but someone who can take control of their life.
I love the feeling of the blood rushing through my muscles as I'm working out, the 'pump' as Arnie would call it! It makes me feel so indestructible an so confident when I walk away from a hard session in the gym! It's my life basically, and I wouldn't change it for the world. All I ever wanted when I was younger was to be the 'big guy', to have the physique that would impress, that would turn heads when I walked past.....However unfortunately I wasn't blessed with the big arms, broad shoulders, etc that we all in this sport strive to achieve. I started my journey with a very sleek, skinny frame that earn’t me the nickname 'SKINNER' when I was a kid. Protruding bones that made me look malnourished, I wasn't very tall either so nothing my going my way....until I started working-out that is, then everything changed. 2 and a half years down the line, I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been, feeling physically great and with the philosophy of tackling life head on, whatever happens.
I had never considered entering such a competition like this before, lifting weights was just a beautiful past time of my life which I enjoyed greatly..However when I was first approached by Chris, John an the team at the bodybuilding college, I was really shocked to find out that I had some real potential in what I was doing, and with a gentle change to my regime I could better myself in ways I could never of imagined! What was once just an enjoyable past time, has turned into a really passionate journey, which I am literally giving my all to achieve success with. I was never an academic at school no good with numbers, etc and I never really found anything I was any good at, so this is why I am truly embracing this opportunity to compete, and to do myself proud and I suppose to prove to myself that I have found something I am truly good at!

Why I stay motivated!!! Just looking at the monsters of the pro bodybuilding world, can't beat it for motivation, or my own personal favorite technique, watching 300 before hitting the gym
